Faux Tile Technique

This is a fun and very easy technique to do using a scoring tool & sponge. It reminds me of a tumbled marble backsplash. Have fun with this technique!

Directions:

1) Score your neutral color card stock diagonally to create the look of tiles. (The scoring blade on the Paper Cutter works well for this technique.)

2) Sponge ink as desired onto your card stock to give your tiles texture and dimension. Be sure to allow the "grout" lines to show through.

3) Stamp subtle images over your tile background.

Complete your card!

Club Project: Owl Post-it Note Holder

We made this adorable Owl at my monthly club last night. It uses the OnBoard Chipboard So Tweet as well as the Raspberry Lemonade Designer Paper. We rubbed the Crushed Curry Ink onto the chipboard using a sponge. Once dry, we stamped the flourish from Baroque Motifs using Whisper White craft ink. Pumpkin Pie was used for the eyes & nose and the large scallop Sizzix die for the base. We then inked the edges of all the pieces using Basic Brown ink and added the Pumpkin Pie ribbon as a final touch.

Holiday Cards 3 & 4

Here are cards 3 & 4 from my Holiday Card Class:

This card was inspired from a card in the catalog on page 35. I loved how the ink was rubbed over the embossing. I used Dasher from the Under $10 section and the saying is from the Hostess set Christmas Punch.

When I first saw this stamp set Gifts of Christmas, I just knew I had to have it! I love how elegant it is embossed in silver. The red cardstock is dry embossed using the Finial Press embossing folder & die cut using the Top Note die.
