A fun challenge

I need a lot of help when it comes to scrapbooking. For some reason, it just doesn't "come" to me as easily as card making does. I have a great friend who posted her very first scrapbook sketch on her blog http://www.thecraftiegal.blogspot.com/ . I LOVED it soooo much that I thought I would give it a try....

I used the Stampin' Up! designer Series paper Sweet Pea that just sold out a few days ago. (Shows that you can't wait to order if you really like a product!) The butterflies on this paper are so pretty & "summerlike" (is that a word??) I simply just added the punched flowers & stamped the title. The sentiments were stamped because without a photo, (guess I better find a couple!) I didn't want to journal....

Father's Day Vest

This adorable vest card was made using the template available by clicking the link above. What a unique card to give to the special man/dad/grandpa/uncle. There are so many themes & styles that you can do with this! Have fun!

Framed Art Class

Another bird card

Can you tell that I just LOVE the bird punch?! This card features the bird punch from the Occasions mini-catalog. If you don't have this punch, you gotta get it! It is more versitile than you may think. It is found on pg. 10 of the mini catalog (117191). The birds were punched from scraps - a GREAT way to use them up - from the Sweet Pea designer series paper (117161) also from the Occasions mini catalog on pg. 33. The adorable petite little flowers are from the NEW punch pack in the Summer mini-catalog on pg. 11 called Itty Bitty Shapes (118309. You can begin ordering from the Summer Mini Catalog beginning on May 1st. If you haven't received your copy of the Summer Mini-Catalog, please contact me & I will get one to you.

This card features a couple of new products from the Summer Mini Catalog. The stamp set is called Watercolor Trio (117050 w) (120084 C) on pg. 16 and the new texture impressions embossing folder called Square Lattice (119976) on pg. 24.

NO! This card features the Stampin' Up! Lattice die (115958) as a custom-made embossing template! How did I do that? Check out my upcoming class - Faux Embossing - and find out how! You will create your own custom made template to take home!

Washer Necklace

Last week, my stamp club made a necklace out of hardware store washers. These are SO easy to make - you can't stop at just one! The one on the left is the style the members made. While the one on the right is the one I "jazzed" up a bit with wire, beads & a charm. You can even go a step further and add beads to the necklace. So pretty & fun to make! Below are the directions...

1. Start with a washer of desired size. I used a 1 1/4" here.

2. Punch out a a piece of Designer Series paper to size. (The 1 1/4" punch is PERFECT!)

3. Punch out the hole in the center. (Use a pencil to trace the circle)

4. Decorate the paper. This is where you can have fun. You can choose to stamp, use rub-on's or simply just the paper as -is. Here, we used a combination of sentiments & the NEW Awash With Flowers stamp set & Jet Black Stazon Ink.

5. Using a small amount of Crystal Effects, glue the paper to the washer. Let dry. (You can sand the edges if necessary.)

6. Set the washer paper side down in Versamark ink. Emboss with Clear Embossing Powder. ***BE CAREFUL*** The metal is VERY HOT! Let cool completely. Repeat 2-3 times for desired effect. I did mine 3x. You can add gems while still warm & they will adhere.

7. If desired, you can add charms & other embellishments using a metal glue. Allow to dry. Add string for necklace. Voila! What fun, huh??
