Ribbon Flower

Good Morning Stampers!

I wanted to share with you a new ribbon technique that I learned at the Stampin' Up! convention last week. I made this card at Joan's workshop on Tuesday using the Just believe stamp set (116948) & it was a hit! They loved how simple & easy it was and it only took just a few minutes to make! What is nice about this technique is that no matter how you twist, no flower looks exactly the same, but they are all so beautiful!!! I am thinking it would be gorgeous as a pointsettia on a Christmas card.....hmmmm......
Ribbon Flower:
1. Begin with a square of white cardstock. The size will depend upon how big you want your flower to be. I used a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2" piece
2. Using red sticky strip (104294), cover the entire square & peel.
3. Take your ribbon, I used our 5/8" Pretty in Pink satin ribbon (117289), and scrunch the tip. Place it in the center of the square.
4. This next step requires a bit of coordination - lol!!...At the same time, twist the ribbon & turn the paper, pressing the ribbon to the sticky strip as you go.
5. Continue until you have reached your desired flower size.

** Note, the tighter you twist the ribbon, the tighter the flower will be. Keep the ribbon a bit loose & you will get a more softer looking flower....Either way, they are all beautiful!!

Have a great day!

Wacky Wednesday

Good Morning Stampers!

Today is Wednesday & that means it is time for my Wacky Wednesday class! These are the 3 cards we will be making. The top card was inspired by a card I saw here.
Do you recognize the card on the left? I copied the exact layout from the catalog on page 19. I simply just changed the colors & focal stamp. The catalog is a GREAT inspiration for only $5!! The 3rd card was a card I created with the Bouquet Bunch (w118529 $13.95- c120039 $10.95) from the Summer mini catalog on page 21. Make all three of these cards in under 1 hour for only $5! What a deal!
Enjoy your day!!

Baby Ensemble

Good Morning Stampers!
I created this nautical baby ensemble for my new little nephew. The name frame letters were covered with decorative papers onto chipboard along with textued embossing folders for the punches & water. The sail boat uses the 1 3/4" circle (119850) & 1 1/4" square (119865) punches.

The bib & onsie below were purchased at the dollar store. I simply cut the felt using the Sizzix circle 3D ornament die (113472) & Circles #2 (114526). I hand-stiched the pieces and glued to the items using fabric glue.

I'M BACK!!!

I have returned safely from convention and all I can say is WOW!!!!!

I had such an incredible time with my downline, upline, sideline & no-line! (not sure what you call all the great new demonstrators I met) I can't wait to share all of the details with you over the next few days! Prizes, free stamps, make & takes, and more! It is GREAT to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! I will start today by showing you one of the swaps I made to trade with fellow demonstrators. It is a butterfly that showcases the Impression Embossing technique.
Isn't it beautiful? Here is how you can make it:
1. Select a diecut image. I used the Butterfly Die cut here. Diecut from chipboard.
2. Using Chocolate Chip (any pigment ink will work), cover the entire piece of chipboard. Emboss with Glassy Glaze embossing powder.
3. Repeat the embossing step for a total of 4 times.
4. On the last time, take a stamp of your choice (I used the stamp from Elements of Style) & while still hot, smoosh the stamp onto the embossing. Press hard. Leave stamp in place til cool. Remove stamp once cooled.
5. Using your finger, gently & lightly brush gold shimmer paint on top. Be careful not to press to hard or it will end up in the embossed area...
6. Embellish with wire & jewels....
ENJOY!!

Good Morning Stampers!

Here is another project my club members made on Tuesday. There are so many new toys used on this card. The first is the Elegant Lines embossing folder (119277) - Look how detailed this is!! The Hostess set Punch Potpourri (Level 1) has four fantastic stamps that have coordinating punches. The bird & flowers were used here. Don't you just LOVE this ribbon? This is the 1/2" poly-stitched ribbon in Peach Parfait (119264) - 15 yards for only $8.95! The sentiment comes from the Level 3 Hostess Stamp set Occasional Quotes on pg. 14.

100 Thank You's

Good Morning Stampers!

I belted out 100 of these Thank You cards yesterday in just under 3 hours - glitter, envelopes & all! They were very basic but clean & simple at the same time. They are going off to a special family who is going thru a very difficult time right now. Their 17 year old son was in an automobile accident just before the July 4th Holiday... His sister is Rachel's very good friend and we have been praying, along with the entire city of South Lyon, for him to wake up & get well soon. For more on this, check out TEAM FINN The entire community has come together to help the family & this is my contribution.

Workshop Make & Take

Good Morning Stampers!

Today's project is a make & take that I created for a workshop this past week. It is a matchbook-style card that also doubles as a gift card holder. The inside is stamped onto a 6 3/4 enveloped that I sealed shut & cut in half. I punched a 1/2 circle to expose the gift card. The stamp set is Crazy for Cupcakes (111618) $23.95. I love the "retro" look of the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series paper (117167) $9.95. It fits perfectly into an A-2 envelope....You can check out the inspiration for this card here.

Have a great Day!

Quick & Easy Birthday Box

Good Morning Stampers!
I needed a quick & easy birthday treat for a good friend. The box is cut from the Fancy Favor Sizzix die (115965) in Tempting Turquoise. This fun, retro-looking paper is from the NEW Designer Series paper Greenhouse Gala (117167). The sentiment is from the NEW Perfect Punches stamp set (117022). I colored the stamp with matching markers & added it to a piece of Tangerine Tango cut from the Lots of Tags (114508) Sizzlit. Tucked inside the box is a gift card - a perfect fit!

Have a great day!

A Handy Helper

Good Morning Stampers!

One of the great benefits of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is having the opportunity to attend Convention in Utah each summer. I made this for my sister, who happens to be my downline, for our upcoming trip. This handy little helper is made using a file folder that I altered into a little notebook. It has our class schedule in the pocket, a note pad for note taking, post-its for marking our catalog & convention book, & a large paperclip. The front cover features
Tote-ally Tess ((117076) some polka dot ribbon & of course, gems!! I hope she likes it!
