August Scrapbook Kit of the Month

Good Morning, Stampers!

It is Wednesday & normally I have my Wacky Wednesday cards to share with you. However, I do not have a class this week as I have family in town visiting. We will resume Wacky Wednesday next week so stay tuned.... Instead, I have my August Scrapbook Kit of the Month to share with you today.

I am loving all of the large background stamps that are in the new catalog. I have several that I have purchased and a few more on their way - lol! Needless to say, I will be showing some of them in the next few days.... :o)

My August Scrapbook Kit of the Month features the Sunflower background stamp (123606 $17.95). I love it as it is so detailed and realistic looking. I have the kit available for $10 and it includes all of the consumables to create these two 12x12 pages. Although it is difficult to see in the photo, I used the Sweet Buttons embosslit (121812 $11.95) and added Crystal Effects (101055 $6.25) to each of them to make them look like real buttons. Contact me to reserve your kit.

Wacky Wednesday - Copy Cat

Good Morning, Stampers!

I hear so often how difficult it is to come up with layout ideas for cards. This week's Wacky Wednesday theme is being a "Copy Cat". Our Idea Book & Catalog has over 200 ideas at our fingertips - why not start there?

The top card - Three Little Words - comes from page 166. I just change up the colors.
The butterfly card comes from page 222. Although I don't have the exact products used in the sample, I made it work with what I do have. And the rose from Happiness Shared comes from page 122. The card shown in the sample is a square. I just simply changed it to a standard size to fit the envelopes I have on hand.

Hmmm... What else can I copy??

Sweet Postage

Good Morning, Stampers!

I created this card with more of the fun new "toys" I received from the new catalog. The Houndstooth embossing folder (123134 $7.95) is perfect for a masculine card but also works well for adding a bit of texture to compliment the Paisly Prints DSP (122367 $10.95). Have you seen the NEW Denim Jean Ribbon? OH so delish! Here I used the Artichoke (125054 $6.95/10 yds). I am offering this on my ribbon share so be sure to check it out! I love that we have the new Postage Stamp punch (122344 $15.95), too! It makes any image look like a postage stamp. Here, I used the SWEET stamp from the Pretty Postage stamp set (w123095 $11.95 - 123097 $8.95).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fast & Fabulous Friday!

Good Morning, Stampers!

It is Friday! Finally! I have been thinking it is Friday for the last two days - lol! Today's project features the Postage Stamp punch (122344 $15.95). I love using punches for other than the "obvious" to show how versatile the punch can be. Pennants are so popular right now. Using the Postage punch to create the bottom of the pennant gives the pennant a bit of texture - take a look:

Take a piece of cardstock strip to your desired size. Place the punch along the bottom of the cardstock on an angle & punch. You can use a pencil to mark your center.

I also used this punch along the bottom of the card for a little bit of added interest. It coordinates with the pennant but doesn't take away from the pennant itself. This is fairly simple to do. Line up the punch with the previous punch (like using the border punches). This can be a bit tricky to keep a straight line freehanded so use a pencil to lightly mark the line.

Here is the finished card. I apologize for the photo. The card is actually Basic Black, Whisper White & Pink Pirouette. I took the photo several times using different settings & light but just couldn't get the look I wanted.
